Graduating Senior Awards
You must have an upper-division GPA of 3.5 or greater in your UC Davis coursework to apply for the following awards. You must have graduated in either September or December 2024, or will be graduating in March or June 2025. Students graduating in the Summer Quarter 2025 must apply the following year (2025-26). The deadline to apply for all awards is Friday, January 31, 2025. The deadline for recommendations is Friday, February 14, 2024.

CBS Distinguished Scholar Award
This award is also known as the Outstanding Performance Citation and noted on your final transcript. Given to several graduating seniors who have conducted substantial research before graduation and maintained an upper division GPA of at least 3.5.
Ron and Lydia Baskin Research Award
The Ron and Lydia Baskin Research Award is given to two graduating seniors for excellence in research in the biological sciences in any of the four colleges at UC Davis. Areas such as biophysics, biochemistry, biomathematics, and bioengineering are specifically included. An award of $1,000 and a commemorative medal will be presented to the recipients at the College Awards event.
Undergraduate Student of the Year Award
Undergraduate Student of the Year is given based on: (i) substantial research activity of sufficient quality conducted with a faculty member for two or more quarters and (ii) substantial campus and community service. An award of $500 and a commemorative plaque will be presented to the recipient at the College Awards event in Spring.
NOTE: Recipients of the Outstanding Senior Award for each CBS major, Undergraduate Student of the Year, College Medal, and University Medal will be chosen from the applicant pool for these awards.
