I raise tiny fish under a variety of different developmental experiences and then expose them to environmental change as adults. I am trying to determine whether there is a particular pattern of experiences that better prepare animals to respond adaptively to novelty. Ultimately I am interested in looking at how developmental experience interacts with parental experience and evolutionary history to predict response to environmental change.
